The book that stayed with me was a mystery I read in the seventh grade called, The Case of the Tarnished Trophy. I have loved mysteries ever since. On a more non-fiction, serious note, it was The New Jim Crow about mass incarceration of blacks as a new form of oppression and injustice. I think of it every time I read of another young black male going to prison and losing his citizenship rights.
