Everything Everywhere All At Once?

Reflecting on its application to life, can we do everything and be everywhere all at once?

I was in San Francisco with my girls celebrating my sister’s birthday when the movie everything everywhere all at once came out. We went to see it. The theater was filled mainly with college students and those in their late teens or early twenties. My own young adult college student loved it. The movie had a few walking out early. With it’s multiverse focus, it was long and seemed to end about three times with the theater dwindling as the movie progressed. We stayed to the very end. It’s emotional theme was filled with laughter, some crazies, and a few tears especially at the end. To this day my youngest still adored that movie.

Life’s Application

But as I reflect on its application to life, can we do everything and be everywhere all at once? Really hard, even tiring and strenuous. Sure grounds for emotional imbalance and high stress.

Business coaches will tell you to focus on one thing at a time. Being everywhere all at once depicts lack of focus and going nowhere. Apply this concept to your goals. Sometimes you may have to reflect on all your life experiences to get to where you want to go. If it’s studies, you have to choose a major. If it’s career, you have to choose one or one will choose you (if you’re to survive) and chances are you may end up miserable. Not to mention relationships. You have to choose. You have to decide who your friends will be. Who will you be with long term to start a family and build a life?

Our society today seems all over the place. Values have gone awol. Anything goes. You can do anything provided it makes you happy. But at the end of the day, are you really happy?

Something to think about.

Cheers!

Copy That!

It’s almost the end of the year! Just two more months to go! Already the Holiday commercials are out in full swing! Not to mention Hallmark Christmas movies that share the longings, celebration, and joys of the season. Jolly that!

For me I love the beautiful Christmas lights! The cool weather! And the smiles that captivate even the Grinch at this time of the year. Sigh….

Goals: Where Are You Now?

But…as we stride into smiles of long shopping lists for business associates, colleagues, friends, and family, let’s pause and remember something very important…our Goals. What were the goals set for this year? Have you achieved them? Are you close to completing? Take a moment and reflect.

A Goal is something that you are trying to do or achieve

No matter where you are on your journey…pause and reflect. Don’t be hard on yourself if you are not as close as you would like….or haven’t started (yikes)! Play catch-up. Remember, a goal is something that you are trying to do or achieve.

In the next 2 months, update your goal to see what you can get done before the year is out. Call it short term, but make it count. Do not wait until next year…that’s a fallacy. To procrastinate is to give excuses. Don’t be a Copycat like others…set a short term goal and get it done now. You won’t regret it.

Be Bold

Be bold. Share your thoughts on where you are on your journey. One of the key steps in reaching your goal is to write it down. Sharing it makes it an open commitment that will help you on your journey, and by the way it’s not too early to start your plans for 2017.

So be bold! Share here since we’re all in the same boat.

Cheers!

Smoked. Hope Banned…

Smoke is a visible suspension of carbon or other particles in air, typically one emitted from a burning substance

We gain insights into the path we have trod by looking back. It’s in looking back that we are able to connect the dots… to understand where we have come from. We find value in quiet reflections that shape the journey to achieve new goals and future aspirations.

Hope Inspires

Many saunter without hope as if it’s Banned. The Smoke that rise inspires but only if we are alert to recognize the signs before its destroyed. So now we take the opportunity to reflect on the thoughts of some of society’s successful people and what they wish they knew early in life. Top phrases include:

  • Don’t work too hard…(but Work hard)
  • Have a blast
  • Build purpose
  • Things will get better
  • Embrace Uncertainty
  • Never let money define you
  • Accept what’s right for you

These statements by Ariana Huffington, Richard Branson, Sallie Krawcheck, Deepak Chopra, Suze Orman, and Clara Shih, are applicable to most if not all of us. We must work hard to achieve, but not too hard that we miss out on life and forget to have a blast!  As we ride the waves of life we must build purpose. Without purpose we will arrive at a destination and wonder what happened. Life is full of uncertainty so accept what’s right for you. Search, seek, find the tools to identify what’s right for you and work hard at it.

There’s no time like the present. So today, find sometime to take stock of your life, your goals, your aspirations. Are you where you want to be? Trace the smoke…the warning signs. There’s always hope to start anew, afresh, Recreate … to get back on track.

Cheers!
