Success Starts Here…

Peter Souza, former official White House photographer, when asked about his success said “you have gotta start somewhere and there is no one path to be successful”  (in his case photography). But I extend it to say, it is the same thing for any endeavor we strive for in life. You have to start somewhere.

So when you feel Cranky, keep Climbing. Give it your best shot. Believe and you will achieve.

Cheers!

I pounced upon the study of Success by accident

I pounced upon the study of Success by accident. I did so through pondering why some people succeed while others don’t. Then I took it a step further and delved deeper selecting it for my dissertation research on Successful leaders. My aim was to share it with those who seem to be living without hope.

That said, success is no Oversight. It is a result of hard work and dedication. Below I have selected 12 Quotes that provide some Exposure and motivation for those of us who dare to take the steps to succeed.

12 Success Quotes

1.Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what? Get started now. Life: Marathons Unseen…

Life’s uncertainties at times leave us baffled–often as if in a maze with no way out. The Unseen provides periods of confusion, apprehension, and fear.

A Marathon is a long-lasting or difficult task or operation of a specified kind

Life’s uncertainties at times leave us baffled–often as if in a maze with no way out. The Unseen provides periods of confusion, apprehension, and fear. It seems we are running a Marathon–a race that never seems to end.

But it’s at those times that our strength and character is built. If we hold on and never give up, we discover things about ourselves we never knew existed. With renewed zeal we embrace our inner desires to go on. To achieve even more goals, dreams and aspirations far beyond measure.

Today if you feel exhausted, take a break. Talk to someone. Find a Coach. But whatever you do, don’t ever give up. The light will break through at the end of the tunnel.

Keep the faith. Keep going.

Cheers!

Someday I’ll …

Someday I’ll do this. Someday I’ll do that.

How many of us often sit or live at the ‘wishing well’ that someday I’ll do this, or that. Someday I’ll get that perfect body. I’ll have that perfect house, job, spouse, marriage with the perfect kids; go on that dream vacation, and much more! Oh if wishes were horses so many would ride.

Someday is Today

Why not let someday be today. I reflect on the movie Hidden Figures where each of the three women at NASA — Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into space.

The inaugural team at NASA decided to step out and do something that was never done before. From the astronaut, NASA’s president, the judge, and naturally the women. They all stepped out and did something different. And guess what? It worked! Their efforts changed the world (well outer space– orbit)!

Start Here. Start Now

Why not let your someday be today? Start here, start now. Step out. Go do that thing that you’ve always dreamed of. Become an entrepreneur! Write that book! Enrol in that course! Start that blog! Take that vacation! Leave that stressful job! You are Capable. You never know what’s out there unless you try.

May your someday be today.

Cheers!

Infinite Possibilities…

Your Possibilities are endless. Don’t confine yourself. Step out and by faith you will accomplish what you will today.

Your Possibilities are endless. Don’t confine yourself. Step out and by faith, with effort, you will accomplish what you will today.

Dream it. Work it. Do it. Infinite possibilities ahead.

Cheers!

Goals. Be Specific…

Goals. Be Specific. Believe. Achieve

Work it. Climb.

Useless. Doing Something Efficiently That Should Not Be Done At All…

Peter Drucker was wise when he said there is nothing quite so useless as doing with great efficiency, something that should not be done at all.

Across from her I stood. Watching as she carefully arranged the papers for delivery. Unknown to her was the intrepid fact that her department would be cut the next day. No amount of hard work could Criticize or change that fact. Decades ago who would ever have thought that society would change. Newspapers were no longer being read by the mass and the company had to cut back. Sad as it was the staff had to be reduced to save what little of the company that could be salvaged to its new online medium.

Peter Drucker was wise when he said there is nothing quite so useless as doing with great efficiency, something that should not be done at all. Tempted? Let’s examine our lives today. What are we doing so well that should not be done at all?  Is it taking a course that you Insist but is no longer recognized and when you graduate you are left out in the cold? Is it staying within your comfort zone in a job that has no room for growth, or worse …almost redundant? Lest we get more personal …is it pursuing a relationship that no longer makes sense?

Be Wise. Look around you. Examine the trends and do only what makes sense for your future self.

Cheers!

Culture: Why Do You Do What You Do? 🤔

If you know the why, you will find the how. What does that mean?

The Why

Why do you do what you do? Is it for money? For fame? Love? To make a contribution to society? To leave a legacy?

The How

Finding the how is not as difficult as we make it. In this instance HOW means to create a desired result. This means different things to different people. Some believe the how is too hard. They do not have that Culture of discipline to accomplish their goals. On the other hand there are those who have the drive, the will, the passion to forge ahead no matter what comes their way.

In the movie Castaway, actor Tom Hanks played the role of being shipwrecked on an island waiting to be rescued. After years of waiting, he remembered his why. He wanted to survive to return to his beloved wife. Her picture kept him going throughout his tragic circumstances.

Similarly in the movie Everest, climbers reached the top and were elated but encountered setbacks on descent through severe weather conditions. Their why was to reach the top. Once that was done, in the midst of setbacks all but one froze into non existence because the how was beyond their natural scope.

Vigors of Success…

How many of us walk around alive but frozen? We meander doing daily tasks, attending to work needs, family responsibilities, and more but miss the very essence of our ‘why’. As we approach the end of another year, it might be wise to Stop. Take the time to reflect on your ‘why’. Why do you do what you do? What makes you tick? What provides that zeal…that passion to forge ahead when the going gets tough?

Only then you will be able understand your how. Today, look back on your journey. Are you still on the right path? Connect the dots and move forward to achieve your dreams, goals and aspirations.

Cheers!
