In the Process It Stings But…

But when it all comes together, it’s sweet like honey and produces something naturally beautiful.

Swarm…in the process it stings. But when it all comes together, it’s sweet like honey and produces something naturally beautiful.

Goals…keep going. Don’t stop.

Of Goals and Desire …

say quietly to yourself…”shut up and jump”…

Desires. Desires. We are often  filled with Desires of dreams, goals, and aspirations to do this or that. To accomplish our best. To become our best. To be successful. But our desires are often hindered by restrictions we place on ourselves–at most by our fears.

Why not take the chance today to step out and do something that you have always wanted to do? Just say quietly to yourself…”shut up and jump“!  You may be surprised at how much you achieve.

Cheers!

All That Glitters…

All that Glitters is not gold. It’s a common saying that means things are not all that they appear to be. It’s an important facet to consider when making decisions. So be sure to check out:

  • The new job and corporate culture before you sign your acceptance.
  • Get to know your partner before you marry…yikes!  (habits, likes, dislikes, meet-the-parents, past experiences, plans for the future…do they include you)?
  • Investigate. Do a house inspection before purchase.
  • Research before you relocate
  • Read the reviews before buying the product (including return policy).
  • Research and/or  visit college before deciding to go.
  • Know the genre before you write.
  • Know the Joneses before you try to keep up

These are just a few examples to what could be a very long list. So do your background checks before making life changing decisions. Some mistakes can be avoided.

9 Steps To Writing Your First Book

Write. Just Write. When writing, forget about being perfect. Just focus on getting the information out of your head and on paper

It’s such an exciting time to think about publishing your very own book! It certainly was for me when I did my research and got it published in the Journal of American Academy of Business Cambridge (JAABC), as well as my books on success strategies and leadership. I am now busy writing a new inspirational book. Tons of Lush near Edible excitement especially when you receive the first printed copy! Woo-hoo!

I have been getting requests from interested first time writers and decided to share my personal thoughts on how to get the writing done in order to get published. To be honest I understand the Seriousness of this goal. So here are my own 9 steps to get you going.

9 Steps to Getting Your Book Done

1.Develop that mindset.
Goal achievement begins in the mind. Think of the saying “if you can imagine it you can achieve it”. So get your mind focused and begin the steps to achieve!

2. Write What You Know
Write what you know but be realistic. Don’t start learning a new skill in order to write a book. Use your own life experience. Do you have a skill? Are you an expert at something such as managing a business, a hobby, relationship experience, or other? Why not consider writing your biography ….your own life story. Whatever you decide, make sure it is important to you and something that you are passionate and knowledgeable about.

Write. Just Write

3. Write. Just Write.
Once you have decided what you’re going to write about, just write. It’s that simple. Write in your laptop, iPad, desktop, phone, or even the old fashion hard copy steno-book. Your choice. Just write.

4. Forget About Editing During The First Draft
When writing, forget about being perfect. Just focus on getting the information out of your head and on paper, or whatever means you choose to write in.

5. Take Breaks.
Go to places that inspire. Walk on the beach. Embrace nature. Do your favorite activity. Watch a movie. Read. Pamper yourself. Simply do something that inspires you. Something that ignites your passion… your writing

6. Capture Those Thoughts
Lest we forget, always keep a medium to capture those thoughts handy. It’s not uncommon to see something that inspires you even though you’re not in that ‘writing space’. Just get it written down… somehow. Missing that moment often leads to frustration when you get back to your space and can’t remember what you wanted to write.

7. Set Deadlines
Defining a deadline for completion helps you achieve your goal. So for example if you decide to get published by year end, then set a plan to write everyday, every weekend, or plan a vacation getaway or retreat just to write. Plans are like road maps or GPS. There is a starting and an ending point. If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there… and I dare say that  you may not like where you end up.

8. Don’t Be Hard On Yourself
Enjoy the ride. If you miss a day, two, three or more, don’t get stuck. Just get back on track and write.

9. Don’t Quit
Achieving a goal has never been easy. Be Aware. Keep the momentum going. Cry if you must at times but keep going. If it will help, get an accountability partner or coach who will help you achieve your goal.

So there you have it . 9 Steps to becoming that author you’ve always dreamed of. You have it in you… so go for it!

Goals: 5 Ways to Achieve…

Be bold. Be Different.

A goal is the object of a person’s ambition or effort; an aim or desired result

Dreams, goals, aspirations. We all have them. We plan, we pray, we struggle, we wander. At times things seem Overwhelming. But as we focus our efforts and ambitions on our desired results, here are 5 Key Learning Nuggets to guide our strides to achieve.

5 Ways to Achieve Goals

1)Focus. Know where you want to go and what you want to achieve. It will happen even when faced with difficulties.

2)Have a plan. Work that plan.

3)Be Alert. Keep your eyes on the goal

4)Be Unconventional. Go against the odds. Not because many have done things in a particular way means you should follow. Be bold. Be Different.
5)Surround yourself with capable people who are going in the same direction.

Caution

A word of caution. As you get ready to follow these strategies… remember your VALUES. These play an important role in goal achievement. Afterall you don’t want to win against all odds …do you?

Goals–it’s Clean and clear…go get ’em!

Cheers!

The Color Yellow…

The color Yellow enhances vision, builds confidence

Beautiful, serene, inviting. The color yellow represents youth, fun, sunshine, optimism, and other happy feelings. On the other hand it also means jealousy, cowardice, and deceit.

The color Yellow activates memory, encourages communication, enhances vision, builds confidence, and stimulates the nervous system. Through its bright effect, the color yellow calls attention and when combined with black illuminates readability from distances. Hence its use on school buses, traffic signs, and more.

The color yellow tugs at the heart depicting welcome home to loved ones afar.

So today if you’re feeling blue as an entrepreneur, lack of growth at a career endeavor, of if you are at a transition point in your life, stand tall. Focus on the positive. Talk with a friend or coach. Believing for the best encourages us to achieve our goals, dreams, and aspirations. It’s that Automatic.

Cheers!

Success Starts Here…

Peter Souza, former official White House photographer, when asked about his success said “you have gotta start somewhere and there is no one path to be successful”  (in his case photography). But I extend it to say, it is the same thing for any endeavor we strive for in life. You have to start somewhere.

So when you feel Cranky, keep Climbing. Give it your best shot. Believe and you will achieve.

Cheers!
