A year ago my daughter and her husband went on their dream vacation to the beautiful and historic Greece. The country prides itself in the wanders of joy, and rich history. Travelers are never disappointed.
To get there, they journeyed by cruise, plane, taxis and foot. Every moment of planning the trip was filled with beautiful excitement, longing, and delightful dreams of what was to come. And when the day finally came, it didn’t disappoint. They had a wonderful time! 10 days exploring the mountains, valleys, monuments, eateries, and more.
Then the day came for their departure. Filled with pics, souvenir, and memories to Recite to last a lifetime. Suddenly…without notice, as if in a Trance…things changed.
Unrest erupted in Turkey. Airports closed. Luggage on flights that were terminated. No way out from Athens. Flights cancelled, they had to seek alternate accommodation at nearby hotels. Yet no sleep. Fears rose as they thought of their kids. Oh to feel their tiny hugs.
Two days later with commute from Athens, they ended up in Paris. No seats on flights to the United States, they had no choice but to separate…to Journey home on separate flights, over long distances through different countries. It was their only option. A few other stops, and days later they arrived home. Apart but together. Safe.
What a trip!
Ever experienced anything like this? Sometimes our goals go asunder. But only the strong survive. Don’t give up. As bob Marley sang,
“never give up the Fight” – Bob Marley
Goals …keep going. Don’t Stop. You’ll get there.

A junior in college, my daughter felt ill while on her internship program. She called two friends to drive her back to campus. As fate would have it, they met into a serious accident significantly damaging the car.
But they were alive! Praises!
Later, I spoke with her friend (the driver) who was extremely sad and kept saying … if only…if only….
If Only…that’s a regret. Accidents happen. Life happens. Change happens. But we have to roll with the punches. Learn. Move on. To stay in a state of piety and Prickle regret while wallowing in self-pity and the ‘if only‘ syndrome, will keep us stuck…unable to move.
Today, if you are in a state where you’re frustrated because of something that has happened in your life; if you are feeling depressed, I urge you to get up, dust yourself off, and keep moving towards your goal. Do it even when you don’t feel like it. Only then will you reap the benefits of change….and as you progress… only then will you be able to smile again.

I’m not a ‘birthday celebrator’ but I had a presentation and decided to pick up a box of cheesecake to share with attendees. After reading the story of how The Cheesecake Factory began, I decided to share it here.
The cheesecake Factory story begins in Detroit, Michigan in the 1940’s. Evelyn Overton found a recipe in the local newspaper that would inspire her “Original” Cheesecake. Everyone loved her recipe so much that she decided to open a small Cheesecake shop, but eventually gave up her dream of owning her own business in order to raise her two small children, David and Renee. She moved her baking equipment to a kitchen in her basement and continued to supply cakes to several of the best restaurants in town while raising her family.
In 1972, with her children grown, Evelyn and her husband Oscar decided to pack up all of her belongings and move to Los Angeles to make one last attempt at owning her own business. With the last of their savings, they opened “The Cheesecake Factory Bakery” and began selling Evelyn’s cheesecakes to restaurants throughout Los Angeles.
Through hard work and determination their business grew to a modest size and Evelyn was soon baking more than 20 varieties of cheesecakes and other desserts.
With a great foresight and intuition, their son David decided to open a restaurant to showcase his mother’s selection of cheesecakes. Somehow he just knew that guests would enjoy a restaurant with an extensive dessert menu. It was 1978 and he opened the first The Cheesecake Factory restaurant in Beverly Hills, California. The restaurant was an immediate success and today there are nearly 200 The Cheesecake Factory restaurants around the world that share the Overton’s commitment to quality and spirit of innovation and hard work.
We all have dreams, goals and aspirations that consistently tug at our hearts. Some annoyingly, some quietly. We sleep, gaze, visualize, but the ideas just won’t go away. Most often we are stuck….afraid to take the leap. I hope this story of how one dreamer made the move that subsequently impacted generations, will inspire you.
May the delicious delicacy of the Cheesecake’s story ignite your passion to step out, Organize, go after your dream, and do what you have always wanted to do.

A moment of weakness. Devastating consequences.
A father was seen hitting his son. Onlookers called the cops. The rest is as we know it. The father was barred from seeing his son in order to protect the child’s perceived safety. This despite cries from his wife and others that he is a great dad.
A drink or two at a party, then getting behind the wheels to drive home. Impaired… it’s called. Driving under the influence impairs our ability to function well. Accidents happen causing injuries; sometimes fatalities.
A moment of weakness. Enrollment in college goes asunder. Future’s impacted as dropout rate catapults.
A moment of weakness. The common intimacy. Resulting consequences…unwanted pregnancy. Abortion. Sadness. Childbirth without care. Impacts negatively on relationships, marriages…, divorce ensues.
A moment of weakness often impacts goals. Maintain focus. Develop the ability to say No. No to the drink. No to the advance. No to the things that distracts, and painstakingly drags you off the direct path toward your goals.
A moment of weakness. Think before you act. Aint no Lollipop.
Just Do it. Avoid Any Disastrous Consequences
