Do It. It’s That Simple…

If you can imagine it, you can dream it. Dream it and you can become it.” –          Walt Disney

For years Walt Disney’s quote…”If you can imagine it you can do it”, hung on my wall at home. I was able to see it every day. It stayed with me during all my dreams which became goals which later became reality. My studies, writings, books, and more, all became real because of my dreams.

Dreams Don’t Come Through by Themselves

But dreams don’t just come through by themselves. We have to plan, then work it. With hard work, dedication, persistence, and the will to achieve, they become real.

From a young age, my niece always wanted to do her best at making others beautiful. After graduating, she began working with a renowned makeup organization. She learnt from the best and with her innate desire for excellence, she has excelled and now makes celebrities beautiful for their appearance at major events. Indeed, she makes me proud to see her journey realized.

On the other hand, sometimes after we have achieved, we want to move on to other things. Some may be bigger; some may be smaller (as in downsizing). Others may be to let go, relax, and enjoy the little things.

Today, whatever your goal, be sure to know that you can achieve it with the imagination, and the will to see things come through.

Today, do you.

Cheers!

When Goals Differ …

I was driving behind a car when the traffic light changed to orange. It was more than enough time for the car ahead to go through. But the man behind the wheel purposely slowed down to stop. Naturally I was annoyed.

As I looked at him I realized his goal was to stop to smoke. Mine was to get to work on time. Drove me crazy.

He was chilling. I was late. He appeared to have gone to the gym and was unhurriedly getting back. I needed to go to the gym but can’t (smirk). He may have a job that he can go when he pleases. Mine was to get there early or else…

But though I hated his actions, he was living his choice. I have to live with mine. We must stick with the choices we make. What’s your choice today?

Goals do differ. But we must be careful of goals that should be aligned such as on-the-job, or relationships. Some goals must go together as in organizations, joint partnerships, marriage and the like.

Check yourself. Are you on track with your goal? When things go awry, what do you do? Do share, we’d love to hear.

The 5 Strategies of Successful Achievers…

They begin with the end in mind
They set specific and challenging goals

A 2-week getaway to Singapore! For 2 years that’s what she planned. All with the bells and whistles of flight, hotels, cruise, and cultural site visits along the way. She did it with the spirit and taste of satisfying dreams.

But how many of us actually do that? Create our goals, plan it, save for it, and not deviate. Hers was a vacation to a far away land. Ours may be Entrepreneurship, a job, career, exercise, home ownership, writing, starting a family, and more. Often we start off with a bang! Then we stall. Procrastinate or give up.

Marcel Schwantes shared Article that Science Says Only 8 Percent of People Actually Achieve Their Goals. Here Are 7 Things They Do Differently. Of the 7, I like 5. Here I share my favs:

Things Done Differently

  1. They begin with the end in mind
  2. They build a support system around them
  3. They set specific and challenging goals
  4. They recognize when they are procrastinating
  5. They don’t multi-task

How about you? How do you stay on track to achieve your own goals? Do share. We’d love to hear.

The Sun Will Rise….

Your Journey will always be filled with ups and downs, peaks and troughs. But keep going. There will always be the Sunrise. Stay Focused.

Watching Your Dream UnFold…

Horizon

I’m moving and they are renovating the space that I will be moving into. As they work, everyday I pass by and secretly take a peek at the progress of the work. It brings such joy and satisfaction to watch the place come to life. The same is true as I watch other dreams come true. I love HGTV – the home and Garden show where they have Fixer Upper, the Property Brothers and the others. It’s very hard for the contractors to keep their prospective homeowners at bay because they like to watch their dreams unfold.

That is true of all of us. Whether it is watching a business grow, a career come to life or a child get married. The Royal family is a sure example as millions watched around the world as a fairytale came to life. A ‘normal’ everyday American girl get married to one of Britain’s most eligible bachelor …Prince Harry.

Retrospective. So never give up on your dreams. At times the journey will get hard but keep plodding and watch that vision come to life. You will reap that enduring joy that it brings.

What’s the dream that you’re waiting on? Do share. We’d love to hear.

Cheers!
