Goals: What’s Holding You Back?

I met Daisy Ferguson at a Writers Group event. She shared how she wrote her first book after being afraid to meet an almost Edible request at age 86. She published it at age 88. Now she’s onto finishing her 2nd book at age 90! Indeed no small feat!

What Excuse do you have for not achieving your Goal?

Goals: When Things Converge…

What are you afraid of? Go ahead, do it now….even when you’re afraid. You never know…

Convergence is the merging of distinct technologies, industries, or devices into a unified whole

Illiana awoke with a start. She is going to do it! Moxied, she grabbed the phone and courageously spoke with her former part-time boss, John. For months she has been thinking about her internship but was paranoid that she would be turned down.

This time luck was on her side! A past associate and colleague recently connected with John for an opportunity but he didn’t have the time to assist. But he promised he would think about it. Now here was his chance… Illiana had all the time in the world to dedicate to this project for a full year of internship!

Amazing! Totally supernatural! Savor it! When faith works, everything converge.

What are you afraid of? Go ahead, do it now….even when you’re afraid. You never know… it may converge with another person’s dream.

Ever had ‘converging’ experience? Do share.

Cheers!

Travel For Business or Pleasure?

Traveling! It’s mind-blowing! It expands our thinking. It opens doors to things we never dreamed of. Often it comes with frustrating exasperations of missed flights, airport treks, trains, taxis, and more.

Why do you Travel?

Recently I’ve been traveling on business attending conferences, public forum and more that I’m involved in. But in spite of the busyness accompanied by lack of sleep, travel provides satisfaction. The food. The people. Culture. Hotels. Bed n breakfasts. But it all comes together to form an enriching experience that all would do well to Commit to experience.
Travel is not an Illusion. Live it, do it, learn.
Hats off to times of travel… no matter the reason.

Cheers!

Inability or Fear?

I Can’t.

Is that coming from a place of Inability or Fear?

To become a Paragon leader within your circle of influence, you must decide….and when you do, get rid of the ‘can’t‘, because you can.

17 Ways To Inspire Creativity…

It’s a story of humility, bravery, admiration, fear, teamwork, leadership, and most of all calm in the midst of tragic…

img_8677

Who would have thought a flock of birds would create such havoc? Yes indeed. Though extremely rare as one in a billion, it happens. The movie Sully shared the real life story of the pilot whose quick decision saved passengers on an aircraft he was flying. He landed in the Hudson River, and Miraculously saved over 150 lives. It’s a story of humility, bravery, admiration, fear, teamwork, leadership, and most of all calm in the midst of tragic circumstances. Doesn’t this story inspire you?

Who Inspires You?

Brian Tracy asked his audience “Who inspires you?” Many responded giving answers such as God, family including mom, dad, spouse, as well as leaders like Brian Tracy, Oprah, John Maxwell, mentor, teacher, coach, political leaders, and more. But surprisingly, one response stood out when a male said that he was not inspired by anyone or anything. Bewildered? Should this be reason for alarm? Do human beings need to be inspired? What happens if we are not inspired? Even more, can we survive without inspiration?

Inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially something creative.

Inspiration is described as being mentally stimulated to do something. If we are not inspired, chances are we will become stuck, de-motivated, lethargic, and life may become meaningless. It’s like there’s no Reprieve. So here are a number of things to do to keep those motivation levels high, as well as arouse your critical thinking skills.

17 Ways to Become Inspired

  1. Listen to Music
  2. Watch animals or children play outdoors
  3. Enjoy nature. Go to the beach. Watch the waves
  4. Travel someplace you have never been
  5. Tune-in to motivational speakers such as those on the increasingly popular Ted Talk
  6. Listen or Read about others who have overcome adversity
  7. Try something new that you have always wanted to do but were afraid
  8. Create a vision board
  9. Consider the challenges you’re facing. Identify solutions
  10. Ask people what they are grateful for, and reflect personally
  11. Join an organization of people making a difference in the world
  12. Read an autobiography
  13. Disconnect and write in a journal
  14. Get a hobby. Express yourself creatively e.g. sculpting, or playing an instrument
  15. Let go of something
  16. Take pictures outdoors. Breathe.
  17. Reflect on what you have learned/accomplished and how it has helped you make a positive difference in the life of others

There you have it. Adopt one, two, three, or more and become inspired!

Steve heard that his company had been sold. What should he do? Wait forever expecting that call? Get sick because of the impending job loss? He, like so many others, remained stuck, steadfast, unmoveable…waiting.

img_1210

Need a change? What do you do? Getting married, what do you do? When you have an exam, what do you do? When a storm watch is on what do you do? When a mother is expecting, what does she do?

The above are Avid life situations that are common to us. So what do we do when these situations draw near? It’s simple…we prepare, we act. It’s no different when other unfamiliar situations approach.

Steve heard rumors that his company had been sold. 60 percent of the employees would be integrated into the new company. Unfortunately, he was not contacted by the new management so it was highly unlikely that he would go with them.  In that situation what should he do? Wait forever expecting that call? Get sick because of the impending job loss? He, like so many others, remained stuck, steadfast, unmoveable…waiting.

5 Signs of Being Stuck

  1. You remain focused on the past.
  2. Even if you want change, you feel safer doing the same things over and over again.
  3. You avoid talking to people fearing that they will ask you how things are going
  4. You have nothing to look forward to.
  5. What is the point? What am I doing with my life? are questions you often ask yourself.

7 Things To Do When Stuck

  1. Do something! Step out! Complete that application! Try something new!
  2. Plan an escape rather than daydream about different scenarios. Go on a trip to relax and reboot your thoughts.
  3. Switch up your daily activities.
  4. Don’t envy and compare yourself to others.
  5. Do one positive thing for yourself today.
  6. If you want to change your life, Pray. Change your environment.
  7. Find a mentor or coach. Ask for help

Today, Zip it up! Be Brilliant. Just do something. Don’t leave your future in the hands of someone else.  It’s Your life. Make it count.

Cheers!

Life throws us off at times. It’s filled with surprises that knocks us off our feet…that bursts the Spike of our dreams, and Fry our goals so they seem unreachable. But it is what we do with the hand that’s given to you that counts.

Recently, I shared the story of Nick Vujicic who was born without arms and legs, yet not only has he survived, he is now a worldwide successful motivational speaker.
