Career transitions, college students, and goal seekers all know how difficult it is to carry the burden of studies to get to the finish line. It’s no easy task.

Parents know how difficult it is to bear the burden of the change in lifestyle as a newborn is expected. It’s no easy task.

Let’s not forget authors whose stories became known from a dream, to a thought, to a page, to a book. Published! It’s no easy task.

So it is with whatever we put our minds to. Whatever we decide to do from idea, thought, dream, goal… it is not going to…

Hospitality 25th Anniversary Awards Event…

Celebrate what you want to see more of

Tom Peters

It’s such a beautiful feeling when dreams come through. This impactful organization (HHRABC) had never celebrated its over 25 years of industry contribution. It was such a delight to work with the board to make this dream a reality.

Among the leaders recognized were Florida Atlantic University’s Dr Peter Ricci, Attorney Bob Turk, Hotelier & Author Charles Ryan Minton, Labor and Employment Attorney David Miklas, Florida’s Department of Defense (DoD) Peter Caspari along with HHRABC President and Board members throughout the years.

As Vice President for the past four years, it was indeed a joy to dream of this celebration and to see it come through.

Life’s achievements are to be celebrated.

Cheers!

Dr. Shelly's avatarSuccess Strategies

Overcoming writer’s block isn’t always easy, but it helps to keep a pen and paper at the ready for when inspiration strikes.

Unknown

Many complain of experiencing writer’s block. It refers that time when writers attempt to write and nothing comes. Some complain that it last days, weeks, months. Others say it may even last years. The question came up in an authors’ forum. Here I share 13 tips recommended.

  1. Take a day off from writing
  2. Work on two different books at the same time. If you have trouble with one, move to the other. It helps with the creative process
  3. If you don’t know what you’re going to write there’s no point in sitting down. What you can do is think during the day what the next few pages are going to be like (when writing fiction). So when you sit you know exactly what’s coming
  4. One writer suggested…

Only it seems to me that once in your life before you die you ought to see a country where they don’t talk in English and don’t even want to. ~Thornton Wilder

I ordered a coffee and a little something to eat and savored the warmth and dryness. Somewhere in the background Nat King Cole sang a perky tune. I watched the rain beat down on the road outside and told myself that one day this would be twenty years ago. ~Bill Bryson

What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.

Jane Goodall

Nancy got the promotion! Yessss! Now what should she do? It was exciting when she Ditched her Job for a new and better opportunity. When Nancy learnt that she got the new role that came with higher salary and perks, she could hardly retain her joy. But as she began thinking deeply about her new role, she found herself nervous because she was new to management. She asked herself, what if I fail? What if they don’t like me? New Manager Growth Development Tips

  1. Educate yourself

Pay Grade: Know Before You Go…

Success is not just making money. Success is happiness. Success is fulfillment; it’s the ability to give.

Adam Neumann

241K Jobs added to the American economy in the third Quarter 2022. Assuredly of this number, hundreds of applicants went armed to interviews with knowledge of what they desired in a new job. In a heartbeat most will say high paying salaries, while others will say great benefits, great culture, remote work and more.

Are Jobseekers & Organizations Prepared for The Future?

Are organizations prepared for the workforce of the future? Research on Success Strategies of Leaders with Nova Southeastern University delved deeply into this question. To date, the most common top priority remains salary. Employers must become armed with the most in-depth information so they can be ready to attract, capture and retain top talent in the marketplace. Accordingly, it was great to collaborate with representatives of salary.com to meet with HR leaders in the industry through the Hospitality Association in Florida, HHRABC.org where I serve on the board as VP. Interest sparked post-pandemic, leaders are now ready to step in and hire the best.

As a certified coach my emphasis is on those candidates seeking a career change. Jobseekers, are you ready? Not sure? Let’s connect to see if coaching is right for you.

Cheers!
