We all go through hardship and challenges but it’s how we handle these tough times that set us apart and set us up for success. ~Brian Tracey
How do you handle tough times? “I just get stuck and stop moving” was one response. Premonition or not, that’s not good…not good at all. Only the strong will survive, and survival comes from hard work.

When Life knocks you down, get back up
Alena planned an inaugural event for an organization in need. It was going to be grand. Sponsors actively participated. The media agreed to show up. Surprisingly the greatest struggle came from the organization’s leadership. It seemed it was going to be a failure. A little saddened and downcast she continued planning the event’s activities. Naturally, fear, anxiety, agitation and more reared its ugly head. But she plodded on.
Amazingly, like an Astral, the event turned out to be just grand! A tremendous success. She walked away with key learnings for the next year. Yup! There’ll be another.
So when life knocks you down; when sickness, pain, sudden job loss, marriage fails, children falter, relationships go south; cry if you must but just stay focused on your goal. You’ll get there with consistency, tons of hard work, and persistence. Find a mentor, a confidante, or Coach who will help you ride the waves. Never Give Up. Let go of the negatives and remember, nothing good comes easy. Stay the course. You’ll get there.
Cheers!

Overnight Success …. extremely quick success that comes without much effort and is typically based on being in the right place at the right time. ~Susan Gunelius
Overnight success is a myth. It doesn’t Exist.
Your Goal… Encrusted Work it, Do it, and you will achieve it.

You have to fight to reach your dream. You have to sacrifice and work hard for it. ~Lionel Messi
When you want something good, you have to make a sacrifice. That’s the saying when I was growing up. No Compromise. I followed that advice when I was at the final stage of writing my research. Naturally, this course of studies came with a huge investment, one in which I decided to push full-fledged into.
Doing so I decided to go into it full-time. It was a huge sacrifice as I had to travel by plane and ground transport to interview leaders that headed top industries. I had to make myself available at their convenience. That said, my disposable income was low. I had to be on a budget. I bought only the essentials during that time. Being a shopper, that was no small feat…. (ladies can you tell)? As a huge ‘tell all’, when I was finally done and decided to go shopping to get some things for graduation, there was a bank alert at the store when they ran my card. You see ‘technology’ as we know it, sensed a changed habit, which set off an alarm. I’ll never forget that day. I laughed long and hard.
I’m sharing this personal incident because I believe you can benefit. If there’s a goal that you would like to achieve, you too can do it. Make that sacrifice. Go after your dream. It will be hard as you progress, but with the right attitude backed by persistence, and hard work, you will make it.
What have you decided to achieve this year? Go ahead, plan it, and just do it.

“To Stand Still is to be left Behind”
Times are changing. Often what we think would last forever, changes in a moment–without warning, and without notice. No one is exempt. If you are a business leader, you may be contemplating industry changes and its impact on your business. On the other hand, you may be an individual thinking of a career change or better yet, if you are thinking of staying put in your career for many more years to come, it might be a good idea to take a look at LinkedIn’s Emerging Jobs report, that was recently published. The report provides information on the changes in jobs/careers. Jobs will grow to over 11.5 Million by 2026, as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
It’s no surprise that most industries are being penetrated by the enabling influx of technology. The areas covered are:
But before you rush to cry out in alarm, may I suggest that you look deeper. Though your career path may be included in the evolution (see Mnemonic pictorial graph), check ways in which you may Conjure up the courage to go full speed ahead and embrace the change. This not only pertains to individuals, but to employers who must keep in tandem with the change to see what’s happening in the global and local marketplace.
Remember, to stand still is to be left behind.

You do not move ahead by constantly looking in the rear view mirror. The past is a rudder to guide you, not an anchor to drag you. We must learn from the past, but not live in the past. ~Warren W. Wiersbe
Stop looking in the rear view mirror. That’s what the instructor would Insist when I was learning to drive many years ago. My goal was to look back to ensure I’m prepared for those crazies when they get too close to avoid being rear-ended. Good thinking? Hmm… not sure.
But now as I get older, I apply the same principle to life. If we constantly look back at the past getting angry at those who did us wrong, or constantly remembering past mistakes, we will never be able to focus.
I am a firm believer in looking back periodically whether its monthly, quarterly, or annually to assess changes for goals and to keep track of plans ahead. However, it’s important to Simplify and focus. Only with focus and direct steps will we be able to achieve our goals, dreams, and aspirations.
Today, take the time to reflect on your life’s goals. Whether you are an entrepreneur, writer, career enthusiast, or other, reflect on how you deviated in the past. Then learn from it. Put it aside and steer towards the finish line. Be a distance runner. Pace yourself then head towards the finish line. You will make it at the right time with steady speed, resilience, and concentration.
