Don’t you just love it when things come together? Sure you do!

I recently came across my eVision board created 5 years ago. It was very satisfying to see that I had accomplished almost everything on the list. Some things included 2-4 year big and Micro goals for me and my girls.

As I reflected, it all came back to me. It was clear that dreams don’t come through unless we:

  • Write them down
  • Create a plan to achieve them
  • Work, work, work ’em Goals
  • Be resilient when the going gets tough
  • Devise ways to maintain your motivation. That’s a must
  • Reward yourself along the way as you progress
  • Learn to breathe, mediate, pray
  • Celebrate the final outcome

Years ago a Medical Director for a healthcare facility stressed that we must be sure to mark every milestone. I adopted that piece of advice and encourage you to do so too…

If you canimagine it,you can dream it.Dream itand you canbecome it.” - Walt Disney

For years Walt Disney’s quote…”If you can imagine it you can do it”, hung on my wall at home. I was able to see it every day. It stayed with me during all my dreams which became goals which later became reality. My studies, writings, books, and more, all became real because of my dreams.

Dreams Don’t Come Through by Themselves

But dreams don’t just come through by themselves. We have to plan, then work it. With hard work, dedication, persistence, and the will to achieve, they become real.

Reinvent Yourself: 10 Key Points for Success

Dr. Shelly's avatarSuccess Strategies

There is no such thing as a lifetime career any more. The world of work is now much more fluid than it was before. The lines have certainly been blurred. Gone are the days of jobs for life where you did your time and left with a secure Glaring pension to enjoy retirement with no Argument. You now need to take responsibility for your job security and the management of your career. Make sure you discover and use your internal resources and take a self-directing approach.

Reinventing yourself is something that you must keep doing. Dr. Robert Davies offered good advice on 10 key points to success.

  1. Focus on your personal development. Spend some time thinking about the competencies. What are the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to survive in this era.

Solo Retreat Rome Itinerary…

Solo Retreat is designed for withdrawal. To take a step back. To plan to revive, refresh, renew, restore. Many take it when they are at a crossroads, or after they have experienced a significant life change. It can last a day, a weekend, week, month or a year as in a sabbatical

Here I share the itinerary for my Solo Retreat that developed along the way. My plan was simple. To get away to a place I didn’t know. To get lost in a strange place and find my way through divine obedience. As I progressed, here’s how it shaped out.

Just Rome

  • Florida
  • Philadelphia
  • Rome
  • Florence
  • Sienna
  • San Gimignano
  • Pisa
  • Venice
  • Rome
  • London
  • Charlotte, North Carolina
  • Florida

Not For the Faint Hearted

Solo travel and it’s purpose is not for the faint of heart. You have to be bold, brave and willing to make mistakes. It was different for me because I’m a planner but being led spiritually, I simply obeyed and experienced something new something different.

What about you? Ever thought about or did a solo retreat thousands of miles away? Do share, we would love to hear.

Cheers!

YOU CAN DO IT IF YOU REALLY WANT

You Can Do It if you really want…

Dr. Shelly's avatarSuccess Strategies

I snuck away at the start of this year to a Cool place in DC to finish my Doctoral studies, and am thrilled to say that by mid-year…I did it!! But nothing I did compared with the greatest challenge I embraced when I faced my fears and jumped 12,000 ft. from a small aircraft in a tandem skydive!!! Yikes!! View it here http://youtu.be/KbaFsgRZJC0. It was the most exhilarating experience! Amidst a feeling of fear, and the desire to accomplish a planned feat, I embraced the challenge. It affirmed to me that we can do great things when we put our minds to it. Even when we’re afraid, we can do it with God’s divine help. So, what’s holding you back from achieving your dreams, your goals, and your desires? Make a decision today. Do what’s laid on your heart. Put your plans in place. Don’t worry about the resources because…

Dr. Shelly's avatarSuccess Strategies

img_5661-e1565359493610.jpg

When it’s time for something new, you will feel it. You will feel a desire to let go, to shed layers, to move, to re-create. You will know because there will be subtle shifts all around you. You will release the old because you are really clearing the path for what’s ahead. Trust the process. Know that life does not take from us anything unless there is something else imminently awaiting its replacement. ~Brianna Wiest

A lot Can Happen In A Year. 20 Things To Inspire You…

“Maybe” can become “definitely.”

The time of change is in full swing. But in many cases it’s the same old same old. Workaholics work; ‘bored’ business meetings continue; couples fight; children go asunder. But there are those who fall in love; travel and see the world; find that rewarding career; realize that fit body; dreams come through in those delightful home; spirituality soar; first time writers publish and make it big!

Amidst all that and the steady post-holiday covid scare, political upheavals, it was a warm breath of fresh air that we welcomed actress viola Davis as she shared Case 20 inspiring things under the title “A lot Can Happen in a year”. Here I share.

  1. You can meet the reason why you never settled
  2. You can finally hear NO turned to YES
  3. You can fall madly in love with yourself
  4. You can change completely and reintroduce yourself to the world
  5. A random encounter can become something life-changing
  6. You can take a big risk and see it pay off
  7. A streak of ‘luck’ can change your life
  8. You can finally receive the same love and energy you give to others
  9. You can say I deserve better and finally mean it
  10. A song can change your life
  11. You can receive the news you have been waiting for
  12. A solo trip can change your life
  13. You can forgive them and move on
  14. You can forgive yourself and move on
  15. You can make new weird and vibrant friends
  16. “Maybe” can become “definitely”
  17. “I am busy with work” can become “I can make time for you”
  18. You can fall in love with your body, your smile and your quirks
  19. You can decide you’re not lost
  20. You can decide you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be

A divine few gives me hope. Do you see any that sparks your interest? Do share. We would love to hear.
