If you find that you are the smartest one in the group that you hang with, you need to find a new group. In order to grow, you need to develop. Staying in your comfort zone won’t help. Branch out. Reach for higher heights.

A Bad Manager can take a good staff and destroy it, causing the best employees to flee and the remainder to lose all motivation.
We have all had to deal with bad bosses at one time or the other throughout our career. We scream, complain, lose the Typical drive, become demotivated, do barely enough to get by, or inevitably jump ship. If you are dealing with a bad boss here are a few examples of characteristics that depicts the behavior.
If you are a new manager, reflect on these characteristics. Recognize the signs and plan to change. You will then be on your way to becoming a good leader.

Here’s CNN video interview with several individuals expressing their journey on deciding whether they identify with a particular race or another. Discrimination abounds and can get Messy. So to some they are thrilled to avoid the upfront open decision of sharing who they really are. Some are thrilled, but later become confused as they are confronted by issues that they need to deal with.
As an Organizational Development practitioner, the choice now exists for people to choose when doing background checks. They must choose what gender or race they identify with. No longer can it be taken for granted face-to-face to identify. You are you. You decide which you, you want to be (tongue twister). Such a Fabric of our imagination.
In my research conducted on Success Strategies, this was one of my findings. Leaders when asked what ethnic group they identified with, expressed choices. Some were taken aback by the simple question because they thought it obvious, while others who were of mixed race and could identify with one group or other based on their preference, selected whatever they wanted. The conclusion from the findings of that research…more work needs to be done on this area.
So as I conclude this simple discussion, the question remains….who are you? Do you know? Do share.
Cheers!

When life gets Messy, take the time to reflect. Relax and get some rest. It encourages renewal. Then later, plunge forward full speed ahead after.

We all go through hardship and challenges but it’s how we handle these tough times that set us apart and set us up for success. ~Brian Tracey
How do you handle tough times? “I just get stuck and stop moving” was one response. Premonition or not, that’s not good…not good at all. Only the strong will survive, and survival comes from hard work.
Here I share Dim excerpts of the strategies as entrepreneurs chimed in.
How about you? Do any of the above resonate? How do you manage challenges? Do share.
Cheers!

What is your favorite activity when you grab that delightful book, and get lost in its world of Imagination? Barnes and Noble asked the question. Is it a cup of tea? Your pet? A cozy chair? Foreign? What’s your perfect reading companion?

When Life knocks you down, get back up
Alena planned an inaugural event for an organization in need. It was going to be grand. Sponsors actively participated. The media agreed to show up. Surprisingly the greatest struggle came from the organization’s leadership. It seemed it was going to be a failure. A little saddened and downcast she continued planning the event’s activities. Naturally, fear, anxiety, agitation and more reared its ugly head. But she plodded on.
Amazingly, like an Astral, the event turned out to be just grand! A tremendous success. She walked away with key learnings for the next year. Yup! There’ll be another.
So when life knocks you down; when sickness, pain, sudden job loss, marriage fails, children falter, relationships go south; cry if you must but just stay focused on your goal. You’ll get there with consistency, tons of hard work, and persistence. Find a mentor, a confidante, or Coach who will help you ride the waves. Never Give Up. Let go of the negatives and remember, nothing good comes easy. Stay the course. You’ll get there.
Cheers!

Overnight Success …. extremely quick success that comes without much effort and is typically based on being in the right place at the right time. ~Susan Gunelius
Overnight success is a myth. It doesn’t Exist.
Your Goal… Encrusted Work it, Do it, and you will achieve it.

Life is amazing! But sometimes it gets Messy with on-the-job demands , caring for family, life conquests, desires, dreams, and the pursuit of our goals become overwhelming. When they all come together to intertwine, it can get downright busy. ith little Courage, we feel unable to manage them all.
That’s when wisdom steps in and urges us to step back. To breathe. That’s when we receive that inner call for time-out so you can refresh, revive and rejuvenate. It would be great to get away on a vacation and take a trip to Europe… but hey though that’s ideal, it’s not always possible to do getaway that far on a whim. So here I share a few tips gleaned for a quick reboot.

Sometimes in life you have to just make the move. I jumped 14,000 ft from a skydive high above the sea. The open air, sea, and clouds were all I could perceive. No easy feat. Like a Rube garbed in Costume, I was as scared as ever. But, with a trained guide affixed to my back and the wonders of a reliable parachute, I did it! (yikes)!
Today, I encourage you to step out and do whatever you want to do. Simply plan it, and with wisdom…do it even when you’re afraid.
Here’s a synopsis of my journey through the eyes of my youngest.
Go, make yours happen!
Cheers!
