In order to Succeed, we must first believe that we can.-Nikos Kazantzaki
A blank slate can be a crucial link to achieve success. We are free to do whatever we want. Like a child, we are free to start anew, afresh. Free to go in any direction . So even when you’re afraid, take the step. Move forward, but first… believe that you can.
I write whenever it hits. I must stop, record, write. If I don’t do so immediately…in a flash, it’s gone. So I have learnt to capture the words as they come. Anywhere, anyhow, anytime.
Where do I write? In a quiet place. A place where I can hear my thoughts, the stirrings of my heart, my soul. I write whenever it hits. I must stop, record, write. If I don’t do so immediately…in a flash, it’s gone. So I have learnt to capture the words as they come. Anywhere, anyhow, anytime.
The equipment I use for writing is anything (smile). When those inspiring writing moments come, I grab the cell phone and write in notes. Sometimes, I write on paper if I can grab one quickly. So I keep note pads all over. In my car, on my nightstand, the traditional desk, dining table, anywhere. I must capture those inspiring writing moments. Then when I am ready to publish my posts, I use my laptop. Sometimes I start in drafts in the WordPress App. But I usually prefer to post on my laptop since it offers the opportunity to edit, tag etc., which I find much easier. Yes, I know this can be done in the App but going the laptop route is my preference before publishing.
To write, all I need in a physical space is simply peace, quiet, and absolute serenity. That’s all. It could be in an airplane in the sky, but for some reason it works. I sleep. I awake my mind is fresh, anew, and I write. Know that serenity can even be found in a crowded space. A train, a plane, a park, an event that I’m allowed to people watch. To see and experience nature amidst the hustle and bustle of people everywhere. The only commonality is that no one can be speaking to me directly (or I won’t hear them or my thoughts (smile). Sounds poetic? Maybe it is. Writing is music to me.
So, Write on writers.

The world can make us ponder the relevance of life…, of things that should be so straight forward, yet they defy the odds. We look out and there seems to be only dark woods.
Years ago, in my graduate Health Administration class at the University of Florida, I was the only person of color. Then later at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, again I was the only person of color in my class in the field. Maybe naive but it seemed rather strange to me. But I persisted, and graduated. After spending years in medical practice management I look around and find myself in a strange situation. Though I’m qualified with experience the same situation haunts…a person of color who must work harder to prove that hey…, I can do the job.
The world can make us ponder the relevance of life…, of things that should be so straight forward, yet they defy the odds. We look out and there seems to be only dark woods. For those who are not strong enough, they give up. Some find rescue in the ditches. For those who are stronger, they hold onto a clutch until they can stand again.
Today be encouraged. Stand tall for the light will shine again. It is just around the corner. So keep your eyes open so you won’t miss it. Stay on purpose…, be strong. Don’t Give Up. Keep Going.

As I look over the circus of things I like, I realize that though I enjoy them and they bring me satisfaction, I find myself not doing them as much and in some cases at all. For over two decades I have been caught up in work, work, work. So this prompt helped me pull away and ponder the things I once enjoyed, or get to enjoy on a rare occasion.
But even as I finalize the list I realize that life’s not promised, so I intend to start doing the things I like and stop leaving them for …one day soon.
That said, the things I like are:

Some days I just sit quietly and reflect. Life evolves, but the more I stare blankly into the distance, I become certain that the more things change, the more they remain the same. So the conclusion is to do what we can to help another person survive, thrive and succeed life’s evolving chain. To bask in the memories of those who sacrificed for us and more.
While so engaged, let the words of Dionne Warwick’s song ring….
Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure
That’s what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I’ll be on your side forever more
That’s what friends are for…
Keep smiling.One Love
Ever been caught between a rock and a hard place? You ask yourself “should I, or should I not?”The choices we make in life are sometimes good, sometimes bad; at times right, at times wrong. But kudos to you when you make a choice!
Making a choice is not always easy. We hesitate, deliberate and become stuck. To be stuck means to be trapped in something. Not being sure which direction to take. Have you ever been there? You experience sadness, complacency, a loss of care. Even when you do care, you feel caught, remain steadfast-unmovable…not sure what to do. Remember our beloved child actor McCaulay Culkin? We want him to remain a child forever. We want to be able to watch Home Alone during the holidays and have him remain as he was without changing to feed our fantasies of the ideal family vacation during the holidays!
But life isn’t like that. As we contemplate where we are now in our life, in our career, relationship, health…, we often come up short. Few of us find satisfaction that where we are now is where we want to be.
So today, take some time and reflect. Are you where you want to be in life… and if not, why? Then take action. This will help you get unstuck and back on track. Drop that fork of procrastination! Start moving to achieve your dreams, goals, and aspirations! Before you know it, you’ll Rock!
We all go through different phases in our lives. Let’s face it, our careers are intertwined in our everyday lifestyle. We strive to be educated whether in a formal educational institution; through our life experiences; or a combination of both. Our dreams, goals, and aspirations range from starting and raising a family, getting our dream home, building our business, and the list goes on. All are intertwined in life’s journeys.
“The U.S. is basically at full employment” …. statement made by CNN Money in their article on employment. Whether or not we agree, jobs have been added….maybe not the ones we like, or at the salary that we want, but that was the finding.
So what are employers paying more for? Here are the top 21 skills gleaned from Money Magazine that revealed the findings of payscale.com money research. These high demand skills give us the best reach for getting a higher salary to advance us to the next phase of our lives. Skills listed in order of highest paid to lowest.
