I’m Too Old…

img_2608.jpg

I’M TOO OLD

I’m too old for a new career

I’m too old for changing what they say

I’m too old for finding sweet love

I’m too old for my dreams to come through

I’m too old

I’m just too old

Silly…

You’re never too old to live your dreams

You’re never too old to change your life

You’re never too old to go after your heart’s desire

You’re never too old to do anything you want

You’re never too old.

Never. Ever. Too Old.

South Florida Book Festival Writers Event…

The 8th Annual South Florida Book Festival shined brightly as authors, writers and poets came together to share pieces of their work with readers and booklovers who came from all across the USA. Event was held at the African American Research Library.

The Passion Test…

When my life is, I am………………That’s the statement that helps you find your passion. Chris and Janet Attwood developed The Passion Statement which can help you to identify our passion. You are encouraged to start with the phrase:

When My Life Is…

“when my life is ideal, I am……………

You are expected to write the statement 15 times and fill in the blank by each statement starting off with that phrase. Once done, you select the top 5 that you feel is most important. Then review it closely to see whether you are living your ideal life. That will help you identify your passion.

For a clear picture, Jack Canfield shared his top 5

  • My life is ideal when I’m being of service to massive numbers of people.
  • My life is ideal when I’m helping people with their vision.
  • My life is ideal when I’m speaking to large groups.
  • My life is ideal when I’m being part of a spiritual leaders network.
  • My life is ideal when I’m creating a core group of ongoing trainers who feel identified with my organization.

Why not try this simple test. It’s a sure way to help you find your purpose

Cheers!

I Am Meant To Do Something…

I know I am meant to something but what is it? What is it?

That statement from a young man whose heart stopped beating for over 20 minutes. He came back to life when doctors and neighbors gave him CPR after he was electrocuted.

Caused me to Reflect on how you can find your purpose. Many ask the popular question…. what am I here for? What is my purpose. Who knows? Only the almighty does. But you can read more from my past discussion on 13 Ways To Find Your Purpose. Here are a few more thoughts on the subject.

How To Find Your Purpose

  • Stop resisting the unknown.
  • Act. Try New things
  • Do what you love. Follow your passion
  • Visualize where you want to go. Jack Canfield says it very well,

Every time you express a preference for something, you are expressing an intention. A table by the window, front row seats at a conference, first-class tickets, a room with an ocean view, or a loving relationship. ~Jack Canfield

Have you found your purpose? Do share. We would love to hear.

Cheers!

Your Vision, Brand And Growth…

img_4382

“That cross-trainer you’re wearing; one look at the distinctive swoosh on the side tells everyone who’s got you branded. That coffee travel mug you’re carrying…ah, you’re a Starbucks woman! Your T-shirt with the distinctive Champion “C” on the sleeve, the blue jeans with the prominent Levi’s rivets, your fountain pen with the maker’s symbol crafted into the end” … and we could go on, and on. So said Brand Guru, Tom Peters.

Branding

Branding is the experience that individuals have when they do business with other individuals. Now as I consider my own brand, my vision becomes clear. To motivate and inspire others to go after their dreams. The impetus is for them to believe; to achieve; and to succeed.

Even though I have studied leadership and success at the post graduate level, and subsequently published book on Success Strategies, there still needs to be beauty and style in the platform used to interact with others. That’s where my Blogging and use of social media comes to the rescue! The intention is use these medium (twitter, facebook, instagram) to fuel the traction to build trust and solidify the brand’s reputation. The goal is to enhance success to grow the following and reach those new entrepreneurs and individuals in transition.

It’s about all motivation, leadership, inspiration and success.

Goals. Burn That Midnight Oil…

Burning the midnight oil…literally, figuratively, or virtually. It’s all the same. Staying up late studying, working, or playing the role of parent to a newborn. That’s the meaning of the phrase burning the midnight oil. It originated from the 1600s practice of literally staying up late to finish work.

Today it’s meaning extends to waiting in line to get the latest release of the iPhone or other noteworthy–or should I say wait-worthy item. You then scream to the world that you are among the forerunners to get the envied product!

Whatever your dream; whatever your goal; burn that midnight oil and achieve it! It’s those who sacrifice much that achieve much. There’s Success in store for sure.

Burn baby–burn!

Cheers!

Busy Is Good…

Busy is good. That’s my favorite response to entrepreneurs who express that they are busy.

You see, we have all been there when there is nothing to do. No job. No contract. No financial inflow. What frequently follows is sadness, apathy, boredom, inability to meet financial obligations and the list goes on. For sure that ain’t good for our mental state and wellbeing.

Among Others

An 80-year-old grandmother was busy going to the gym, church, shopping, Medical visits to the doctor. Those activities kept her busy. It made her feel alive. Then suddenly her husband also retired. Now they both sit at home watching golf, tennis, jeopardy and wheel of fortune on TV. This past weekend she spent time in the hospital. Latency had stepped in.

The Deal

That’s what happens when we are not busy. It happens to entrepreneurs, workers, student or retirees. There’s no respect of persons.

For entrepreneurs, being busy means there’s signed contract for work to be done. There’s opportunity to give work to job seekers on the hunt. There’s also productivity.

Find The Balance

So each time you find yourself complaining about being busy, I implore you to find the balance …but most of all give Thanks. Busy is a blessing because it means you’re doing something good.

So go ahead…get busy.

Cheers!

Don’t Destroy The Key That Opens The Door…

Don’t destroy the key that opens the door. ~RJ Calder

Words spoken by a 9-year old. He was watching the movie ‘King Kong‘ when renowned Actor Samuel Jackson in his role as army mission leader became vengeful to Kong for harming his men. In ignorance, Jackson didn’t realize that Kong was only defending his territory and Jackson and his troops needed to rely on him for survival from deadly creatures.

That’s when little RJ exclaimed… “don’t destroy the key that opens the door”.

The Key

So true. Too often we sabotage our Goals, dreams, aspirations and relationships by destroying the very thing that will help us progress. Today, take the time to think before you act.

Cheers!
